COACHING - APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY
This course provides an opportunity for students to enhance their skills and knowledge in areas of applied psychology in order to promote psychological knowledge in the solution of human problems and in the development of human potential. It aims to provide a foundation for students wishing to develop critical interpersonal strategies for interacting with colleagues, peers, and clients as well as enter further professional training in Clinical, Counseling or Organization Psychology.
After this training, the student will be able to provide basic, short-term, supportive counseling, basic psycho-education and training and promotion of primary psychosocial well-being.
The course will go on to provide an in depth discussion of psychological theory and research and development of psychological problems through the life course. Finally, students will be provided with a comprehensive knowledge of some of the major psychological therapies, and will gain some practical experience in their use.
